Furniture maker Tom Redfern uses locally sourced hardwoods from sustainably managed woodlands to produce a range of contemporary free standing furniture designs.

While many of the chairs and tables are built to standard designs, the wood is always unique and pieces can also be made to commission so that any changes to dimensions or timbers can be easily accommodated. When you become involved in the process, the finished piece will be much more personal.

Tom is always happy to discuss design ideas and to work with timber you have already: for instance a tree that is being felled in your garden.

Tom also constructs timber-framed buildings using local, native timbers and has developed a unique jig for cutting precise joints in large timbers

With many years experience as a green woodworker, Tom is also an accomplished green woodwork skills demonstrators and has recently developed a pencil-making workshop that is very popular and is available for craft fairs and events.
