Richard Branscombe of has been working as a professional horse logger for over 20 years.

Richard keeps 8 working horses (a mix of cobs and heavy horses) at his 60 acre working farm in Wiltshire, and is happy to travel to work in Somerset, Gloucestershire and the Avon area.

Horses can be used for all sorts of timber extraction, from coppice to large butt oak and more conventional softwood. Hores logging is a traditional woodland skill that is enjoying a resurgence as its importance in sustainable and ecomomical woodland management is recognised. Horses are effectively carbon neutral.
