Oliver trained as a cabinet maker in his native Quebec and has been working professionally as a furniture designer and maker for the past 9 years.

Drake Wood Designs are completely original and built to the highest possible standards. Oliver has a fondness for curves in his furniture, which he makes as delicate yet sturdy as possible - his designs are inspired by the timeless aspects of traditional furniture but with a distinctly contemporary and original twist.

Each piece is completely unique and designed in consultation with the client. An initial discussion establishes the direction and results in a set of draft designs for further discussion resulting in a final design that will only be made once you are completely satisfied that it is exactly what you want.

Oliver is committed to the use of sustainable timber in his work - from both reclaimed sources and sustainably managed local woodlands. His work retains the character of the timber and that character will often be a motivating factor in aspects of the design.

For the past three years, Oliver's work has been selected for the Celebration of Craftsmanship and Design at Cheltenham. this prestigious event celebrates and presents the work of around 40 of the country's top craftspeople from a range of disciplines including furniture makers.
