Brian Williamson

Brian Williamson is a coppice worker and underwoodsman specialising in traditional greenwood crafts. Much of his work at the moment is in Westonbirt Arboretum, where he is involved in a large scale coppice restoration project

Using mostly small round wood, he makes hurdles, fencing, hay rakes, brooms and tent pegs. The oak thinnings are sawn for garden furniture and timber-framed buildings, or cleft for shingles, pegs and laths.

Other coppice products include pea sticks, bean poles, hedging stakes and binders, and faggots for river and pond stabilisation.

Firewood is also available.
