Andy Presland

Andy is a wood turner who primarily turns bowls from green wood.

Every piece is unique - style and final form being dictated by the timber from which it is made.

Andy likes to work with timber that has a story and has some meaning to the owner of the timber. In a recent example, a family had to fell a cherry tree on their property and gave the timber from the felled tree to Andy who then turned five unique bowls  - one for each member of the family.

Every piece of timber has a unique feature. What makes the timber interesting to Andy might be considered an imperfection for other uses - so these bowls are often made from timber is that would otherwise be burnt or chipped.

If you have one of Andy's bowls - you will have the only one in a very limited edition.
